Introduction to Sync: We have industry professionals from the sync world to discuss the process of sync and licensing from both the practical and technical side. In this panel, artists are encouraged to learn ways to turn your old catalog into revenue after the songs have run their cycle or freshen up on skills for pitching a brand new single. Let’s talk about how we make it happen from pitch to placement.

Melissa McMaster (902 Hip Hop)
Andrew Yankiwski (Precursor Productions)

1:00 pm - 1:45 pm
Artist Management: Finding a manager can be tough but finding the RIGHT manager can be even tougher! What responsibilities does a manager have to an artist, and to themselves, when considering a working relationship? We ask questions beyond “When is the right time to get a manager?” and “Do I even need a manager?” and ask questions like “What are deal-breakers for you to work with an act?” and “Did the working relationships start organically or did it take time?” This session is designed to open up the floor to managers and artists.

Anthony “Tony” Maltos (Unaloon Management)
Jheanelle Henry (Switch 85)
Mira Silvers (Fort Studios)

2:00 pm - 2:45 pm
Strategies: Releasing music in a digital era consists of engagement, clicks, and follows. How much do these things change the release of a song? Should we be looking to Lil Nas X or should we be sticking to our independent grind like Chance The Rapper? Should we ignore the labels and the industry and go DIY like a Russ or do we become the industry like a Drake? In this panel, we talk about different ways to drop new music. Let’s ask the artists on their perspectives...

Creative Spaces: Today there is a lot of talk about creating new, innovative spaces that are inclusive and diverse in nature. How do we start our own movements? What does it take to create an event that matters? How can we learn to better organize ourselves? In this panel, we will be discussing how to organize and mobilize, how to create movements and how to grow an idea into a creative reality. Our panelists are all pros at curating, creating environments and shaping culture.

Watch as Rel deconstructs his latest music on the spot with a little help from Frost Gamble, an NYC producer based in Winnipeg who has achieved over 1 million streams online.

Is songwriting dead? Why is everything considered a classic the moment it drops? Does collaborating with writers take away or add to the song? How does social media and technology affect your songwriting? Let’s talk about it. In this panel, we talk with our international artists who have seen successes in many different forms with their music. Some lean towards lyrics and some are more a vibe. What are the inspirations and how do you do it?
